St. Mark's provides food and volunteers for cooking and serving lunch every Thursday of the year, except Thanksgiving at Some Other Place.
  

Cooks begin preparing the food at 8:00 a.m. Servers arrive at 11:00 a.m. and serve from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Some Other Place has their own employees who give us valuable assistance every week. We also have workers, paid by St. Mark's, who help lift the heavy pots, do all clean up work and assist us as needed.
  

This has been one of the most rewarding ways to volunteer time.  Most of the people who eat at Some Other Place depend on this food for their main - if not only - meal of the day. Their gratitude is heart warming. We feed between 200 and 250 people every Thursday.
